Traditional Functions: The herbs in this formula have all been used for respiratory support in traditional medicines of their cultures.
Osha Root (Ligusticum Porteri) is also known as “Bear Root”. Bears eat it to clear their lungs after hibernation. Osha root is corregated and brachiated strongly resembling the bronchi and bronchioles of the lungs. This “doctrine of signatures” representation of the lungs indicates its use for respiratory. Echinacea Angustifolia is a traditional Western herbal respiratory and throat remedy. Goldenseal (Hydrastis Canadiensis) has high concentrations of the broad spectrum antibiotic “Berberine”. Goldenseal is traditionally combined with Echinacea for acute respiratory care. Elecampane root is a traditional respiratory tonic. Honey is antibiotic, nutritive and demulcent. Glycerine is demulcent.
Traditional Actions and Indications: Traditional actions of these herbs would include decongestant, expectorant, antifebrile, antibiotic and antiviral. These herbs in combination would have traditional indications for treating cold, flu, allergies, asthma, and acute and chronic respiratory distress.
Cautions and Contraindications: Caution in pregnancy (Osha). Discontinue if stomach upset, skin rash or allergic reaction.

Dosage: The Respiratory rescue is safe to take up to 4 full droppers from 1 to 6 times daily. Frankly, the medicinal taste wards off over use for most people before they could ever physically take too much.
